Delete Your Cover Me Account
1. Delete your account in the app (fastest)
- Open Cover Me and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Security → Account.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
If you haven't joined a company yet, the Delete Account option is also on the onboarding screens. Deletion starts immediately.
2. Request deletion without the app
If you no longer have the app or can't sign in, email privacy@covermeapp.io with the subject “Delete my Cover Me account”, sent from the email address on your account. We'll confirm the request comes from you, then delete the account within 30 days and email you when it's done.
3. What is deleted
- Your sign-in account and your profile (name, email, phone, photo).
- Your membership in every company, your pending join requests and your app preferences.
- Your notifications, points, badges, rewards history and activity history.
- The text of messages you sent. A blank placeholder stays in the other person's conversation so it still reads in order.
- Upcoming shifts you owned that nobody else has picked up.
4. What is kept, and why
- Past shift and attendance records stay with your former employer's company, because they are part of that employer's workforce records.
- A record that the account was deleted (name, email, phone and role at the time) stays in the company's audit log so the employer can see who left and when.
- A free-trial record (email address and company name) is kept so the same person can't start repeated free trials.
- Error reports that contain no personal profile information are kept for up to 90 days.
- Billing records held by Apple, Google or Stripe follow their own retention rules. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, or email support@covermeapp.io for a website or contract plan.
